Brodigan was born by the river in a little tent, and just like the river he’s been running ever since…actually, he was born in Queens and moved out to Massapequa a year later where he spends his time. Outside of a book report on Ronald Reagan in the 2nd grade, he never really led much of a political life. He doesn’t work for the government and has no involvement with his local committee. Instead, he lives in the Internet.
He was in the dot com bubble when it burst back at the turn of the century, as a news editor for Snowball.com. That was when he first learned that he owes it to the people to share his thoughts and views on things, and after the 2008 elections started blogging at the originally titled JohnBrodigan.com. In the immortal words of Lynyrd Skynyrd, “all I can do is write about it.” It was also around this time when he discovered the Young Republicans, and is currently the social media director for the state of New York.
In 2009, he launched the podcast “The Right Hook,” which he hosts and produces. Besides interviewing some of the top officials and authors in the game, the show has also started a partnership with FTR Radio, and has been a credentialed blogger at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) for the past three years, as well as developed a strong working relationship with Smart Girl Politics (SGP).
When he’s not changing the face of politics one podcast at a time, he enjoys a cigar with a good craft beer, anything with guitars, and is a huge fan of mixed martial arts…which NEEDS TO BE LEGAL in New York.
