“MCA. Everybody is a Beastie Boys fan. That’s hard to do. A great life.” - CM Punk
I’m not going to lie and say I was the world’s biggest Beastie Boys fan, but they’re one of those groups that you respected by the simple fact that every time you heard one of their songs on the radio, you turn it up and start noddin’ your head. My mom bought me a copy of “Licensed to Ill” from Sears when I was in the 5th grade, and I’ve had the lyrics to “Paul Revere” memorized ever since. RIP MCA aka Adam Yauch’s.
So we’ll be bumpin’ to the Beastie’s this week on “The Right Hook.” There will be a few political guests as well, but I’ll have more on them tomorrow once I have the voices recorded onto the computer.
This Sunday morning, however, I’ll be launching “Whiskey Rebellion Radio” on the FTR Radio with my old radio partner Mark Radulich, who I was discovered with when Tom LaDuke spotted one of our performances at the Holiday Inn in Kalamazoo, MI. I actually had the idea to do this show last year before everything with my dad. I don’t really get to have as much fun or show as much as my personality “The Right Hook” as I would like (because of format), and I figure since most of y’all are on the computer complaining aboot the Sunday morning shows anyway, having one you don’t hate on the FTR Radio might work!
Sometime after BlogConCLT after we were going on Day 5 of “bronies,” I thought how I’ve been blessed to meet all these other bloggers who share our exact same sense of humor, and it’s just doesn’t feel right to not have Mark be a part of it.
Sunday morning. 10:00 AM. Whiskey Rebellion Radio! Because throwing a “tea party” is so 2010.
Your song of the week…
I owe it to the people.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go meet with Tomax and Xamot on some business deals.
